Empires of War is an imposing game with some of the best communities and player-created mods of any game ever.

Combat and Battles

They are straightforward but have a nice layer of complexity that makes every encounter unique. There's a lot of variety, too, between the ships and how you use them. There is a also an ecnomy aspect to the game, although simple I really enjoyed the simplicity of it allowing me to focus mainly on creating large fleets and armies. The battles are suprisngly large and epic especially for the year.

Mods are where it shines

I played two of the Clone Wars Mods, Fall of the Republic and Clone Wars Unleashed, and it was phenomenal. The game was made with passion for the universe with its details, something missing from most games today. The best one is Awakening of the Clone Wars, and it has a very cool way of telling you the story as you play throughout the missions, and has a coherent direction till the end.

Empire at War Review Conclusion

Star Wars: Empire at War remains one of the greatest strategy experiences ever made, not because of its base game alone, but because of what the community built around it. The depth, creativity, and passion found in its mods make it feel alive decades later. This game is timeless and replayable, I highly recommend it!
